Kobe Bryant to Host the 3rd Annual Kobe Basketball Academy
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB)
February 24, 2009 -- The Kobe Basketball Academy returns to the beautiful
campus at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles for the third year. Last
summer, 600 lucky kids were able to learn the game of basketball from reigning
MVP, Kobe Bryant. This July, youth from around the world will experience one
of the nations premier youth basketball camps.
The Kobe Basketball Academy teaches young basketball players the importance of
hard work, dedication and teamwork while refining their basketball skills.
Participants will get the best instruction in the country from Bryant and his
handpicked coaching staff. Each age group will specialize in a different type
of offense that college and NBA teams run frequently like the Flex, Princeton
and Triangle offenses. Campers will also be coached on the five fundamentals
of basketball: defense, offense, passing, rebounding and shooting. The camp
will conclude with a playoff system and award ceremony for each age group.
Evening camp activities include guest speakers, Q & A session and counselor
games.
"I had a lot of
people influence my career when I was younger and I feel like it's time to share
the knowledge and help teach the next generation," Bryant said. "The campers
will improve their fundamentals and learn different offenses that will help them
become better basketball players. If you love playing the game, if you are
serious about the game, come down to the camp, you'll learn new techniques and
have a great time."
Camp will take place July 6 - 10 and is open to boys and girls ages 8 - 18.
